Yes.

Sometimes people need to be told the obvious and supported by affirmation of the decision that they have already made.

You'll enjoy it.

Seeing as you dont like the long time to do anything in FFXI, then you obviously should get guild wars, since the major difference is that guild wars takes so much shorter to get to the good parts.

I played FFXI very extensively (75 blm, 75 rdm, 60+ whm, thf, + nin) on a tarutaru. I quit recently, and I've been looking at this game for a while. As you can tell, I was a powergamer, I didn't *mind* the grinding, but I certainly didn't enjoy it, and I'm looking forward to playing GW with a more casual attitude, where, so long as I'm skilled, I can accomplish more with less time. If you hit the high end at FFXI, that's when the fun starts (in my opinion, only dynamis and raiding the gods, etc. was fun), and so I basically just think of the fun I had at high end, but instead of grinding for a solid 8 months to get there, I'll be there in a week or two XD. Hope to see you this April, it'll be my first, as well.

That's what I like about GW - it's not totally about Leveling and it's not totally about skill. Kinda in between.

Actually its almost entierly about skill, since everyone can get to level 20 in a week or two, the only thing that will make you win is your own skill and not the skill of your charachter. Also you need planning, since you only get 8 slots, but by the time you reach 20 you will know all your skills (you can get any at any level, long as you find the trainer with the skill) and a char who has played is char from level 1 will beat the snot out of a guy who chose to make a level 20 PvP char and hasn't practiced.

well not quite. There still is *some* levelling in guild wars. Yes, you'll get to level 20 rather quickly, but the real levelling takes place when you start to try and find all the skills you want. If you want all 150 skills available to your character you're going to be playing for quite a while.

Well getting more skills is nice, but they aren't really any better than skills you have, and putting the right ones together and using them well takes skill, and more skills just means more choices, not better player. To borrow from AN, its like a game a magic, the player with more cards doesnt get a better deck, he/she just has more choices on what to put in it.

*snerk* ^_^ Probably. But I live in a fantasy world, after all. ^_^ People are nice to each other there and don't do stuff to deliberately tick off everyone around them. And the skies are not cloudy all day, either. ^_^
